Windows NT Firewalls Unveilled

Both Network Associates and Axent combined a new version of their Windows NT

firewalls for better network protection. Packet inspection and application proxies are the

two methods combined to build Gauntlet firewall. Axent’s firewall integrates a virtual

private network (VPN) to let a network administrator manage multiple firewalls from a

single Windows NT workstation. By placing it’s new Gauntlet firewall 3.0 in Windows

NT, Network Associates claims an improvement in Gauntlet for NT Performance over

version 2.1. It also protects against receiving and replying to spam messages. Net

Tools Secure suite cost $56 per node for 5,000 users and a 2-years subscription includes

the firewall, VPN, PGP encryption, authentication, vulnerability scanning, intrusion

protection, and antivirus security.

My reactive of this article is satisfied because the article give a pretty much of detail

how Network and Axent associated with Gauntlet firewall and Network associated

position its new Gauntlet Firewall version 3.0 for window NT as a new type of product

that combines both packet filtering and application proxies.

I am agree with author, because I had work with window NT a few time use to do

programs with Microsoft Visual Foxpro at work and it's very power to run programs.
